Ozark Sailing Club

Welcome to the e-harbor for the Ozark Sailing Club. The Ozark Sailing Club was founded to promote sailing at Lake of the Ozarks. The Ozark Sailing Club (OSC) hosts sailing regattas, races, and social events from April thru November every year. Please feel free to contact us or download our membership form and join us!

The OSC is proud to make its home at beautiful Ozark Yacht Club, the premier venue for power and sail.

The Ozark Sailing Club hosts several sailing events at Lake Of The Ozarks throughout the year. Our sailing regattas are separated into a spring and fall series, with the option of sailing in either the "racing" or "cruising" fleet. All racing is loosely based on US Sailing rules, with all sailors sailing under the honor system and self regulation. While the racing events are well organized and competitive, they are really about just having fun and spending a day on the water with fellow sailors.

Ozark Cup Regatta

Each year in early October, the Ozark Sailing Club and OYC team up to host the Annual Ozark Cup Regatta.  All boaters are welcome to participate as spectators, racing committee, crew members, course monitors or reporters. The race is conducted according to US Performance Handicap Racing Fleet (PHRF) rules and Time-On-Time scoring.

Starting line is at the 1MM and extends to a windward mark near Isla del Sol (Atlantis Island) and returning to a finish line located directly in front of the OYC observation deck.  Racers are classified in two divisions, PHRF rating below 175 and PHRF rating above 175.  Winners will be determined in each division based on absolute time and corrected time.

In the evening, all participants and friends of the OCR will convene at the OYC clubhouse for the award ceremonies, dinner, entertainment and victory party.

Ozark Cup Regatta Results

Ozark Cup Regatta was held under the sponsorship of the Ozark Yacht Club.  Thirteen boats gathered for an 1100 am start from a marked line at the one MM heading westerly to a windward mark near Isla Del Sol (Atlantis) back to the start line with a starboard rounding of the south mark to a finish at the OYC. The forecast ten knot north wind turned out to be 15 to 25 with gusts above 35, making for fast racing and many round ups and near knock downs.  However the intrepid sailors forged on, completing three races.  The fleet was divided into two divisions at the 175 PHRF, leaving only Enzian and High Noon in the first division and all others in the second.  Enzian won the day, winning two of the three races, but only beating High Noon by three seconds in one of those wins.  The fun day was wrapped up with an open bar, a nice dinner produced by Teresa, and an awards ceremony.
